Regola resolution honors Catholic School Week Jan. 28 through Feb. 3 set aside to recognize role in Commonwealth The Senate today adopted a resolution introduced by Senator Bob Regola marking January 28th through February 3rd as “Catholic Schools Week” in Pennsylvania. “While our Catholic schools have a proud history of providing a quality and well-rounded education for thousands of Pennsylvania children, these institutions also take great pride in instilling the highest moral and ethical standards in their students,” Senator Regola stated in his remarks on the Senate floor. “In today’s society, these qualities and morals are more important than ever before because our young people are exposed to so many negative values and questionable role models.” Senator Regola said that 2.4 million students are currently enrolled in Catholic schools across the nation, with families trusting that their children will learn positive values and receive a quality education, as 99 percent of Catholic school students graduate and 97 percent go onto college. “It is appropriate that we commemorate ‘Catholic Schools Week’ as a way of recognizing the role that they and their teachers, administrators and staff play in helping to shape a better future for Pennsylvania,” Senator Regola said. ### Contact: Nate Silcox (717) 787-6063
