Senator Regola Hosts State Grant WorkshopForum intended to help local governments secure fundingState Senator Bob Regola hosted a very successful seminar at Greensburg Hose Company #1 on March 29 designed to help local government officials, volunteer fire departments and other organizations secure state grants to fund projects that will benefit the community. “I am very pleased that a number of local officials attended this important session. The competition for state grant money is intense and getting tougher all of the time,” said Senator Regola, Chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee. “This workshop gave many local officials and other community leaders an opportunity to find out what state programs are available and the best ways to be competitive in the grant process. The information they learned could very well mean the difference between receiving a grant and sitting on the sidelines.” Experts in the areas of water and sewage, parks and recreation, greenways and conservation partnerships, and state surplus property participated in the workshop. State agency representatives presented up-to-date information on programs and grants. Attendees also received a desktop reference manual containing a comprehensive listing of the programs featured at the workshop, important contact information and other available programs. ### Contact: Katie Morgan (724) 600-7002
