Time To Renew “No Call” Registration renewals must take place every five years
Senator Bob Regola (R-39) is reminding residents that their registration under Pennsylvania’s “Do-Not-Call” program could be close to expiration. Under Act 24, 2002, telemarketers are prohibited from calling residential telephone subscriber whose name, address and phone number are on the “Do-Not-Call” list. Consumers were able to register for the program beginning in September 2002. Since registrations are for a five-year period, those who registered in 2002 will soon have to renew their registrations. “Residents should renew their registrations as soon as possible,” said Regola. “If not, their registration will expire and they will again start receiving unwanted calls. Registering and renewing registrations is simple and can be done online or by calling a toll-free number.” New registrations and renewals may be made by either calling toll-free 1-888-777-3406 or logging onto www.nocallsplease.com. Complaints against a telemarketer in violation of the Do Not Call Law should be filed with the Office of Attorney General by calling toll-free 1-800-441-2555, or online at www.attorneygeneral.gov. For another layer of protection, residents can also register with the Federal Trade Commission by calling toll-free 1-888-382-1222 or going online at www.donotcall.gov. ### Contact: Nate Silcox (717) 787-6063
